In our work together, I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to ensure the process aligns with your individual needs. One of the primary modalities I use is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, which focuses on recognizing and reshaping unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. Through this structured and practical approach, we can build effective coping strategies, reduce stress, improve mood, and support your overall emotional well-being.
I also integrate Narrative Therapy into my work, which focuses on the meaning and influence of the stories we carry about ourselves and our lives. This approach can be especially helpful when working through trauma, as it allows you to process experiences in a way that promotes understanding and empowerment. Through exploring and reshaping these narratives, you can reconnect with your strengths and regain a stronger sense of control and agency.
I also incorporate mindfulness-based approaches into my practice. These methods encourage present-moment awareness and gentle acceptance, helping to reduce stress and strengthen emotional regulation. By weaving mindfulness into our work together, you can develop greater clarity, self-awareness, and fresh perspectives that support lasting growth.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Guelph. My academic training provided a solid grounding in psychological theory, clinical skills, and evidence-based therapeutic practices. Throughout my education and clinical placements, I had the opportunity to support individuals from diverse backgrounds facing a wide range of mental health concerns, which strengthened my commitment to a holistic and personalized approach to care.
